7 km charity cycle around Cork city, dressed as Santa. Be one of 500 Santas spreading happiness to the city. Strictly over 18s event

The CorkSantaCycle is bacRDJ Cork Santa Cycle

Join us again for a 7 km cycle around Cork city dressed as Santa. You'll be one of 500 Santas bringing Christmas cheer to the people and children of Cork. All proceeds go to Pieta.

The event will be live outside Goldberg's from 6:00pm, so come early and enjoy the atmosphere. All Santas depart at 7:00pm sharp.

Registration and Santa suit pickup

Collect your Santa suit, fairy lights and batteries at Goldberg's:

Saturday 28 November, 4:00pm–6:00pm

Sunday 29 Novemberr, 3:00pm–4:00pm

We can't hand out suits outside these times. The elves will be busy!

Make some noise

Decorate your bike to look as festive as possible. If you have a phone or speaker, strap it to your bike and play the group Christmas music from our media partner 96FM. Download the ONIC Player app from the App Store or Google Play, tune into the Christmas channel, and turn it up loud. As we pass St Finbarr's Cathedral, the bell ringers will ring out for us, so ring your bike bell back. Let's wake the city!

Raffle and prizes

Look out for Audrey, Ruairí and the elves selling raffle tickets at the event, or buy online.

1st prize: €1,500 cash

2nd prize: €1,000 cash

3rd prize: €500 cash

There are also spot prizes on the night, so listen for your ticket number. Prizes will go to the best-dressed Santa, the best Mrs Claus and the best-decorated bike.

Getting there

There is no parking outside Goldberg's, as the road will be fenced off for cyclists. Parking in the Docklands is very limited over Christmas, so please cycle to the event if you can. If you drive, park considerately. The road outside the event area is one-way.

Safety

We'll be cycling at night on open roads, so please:

Bring working bike lights and a helmet

Stay on the left-hand side of the road at all times

Never cycle ahead of the lead Garda car, so the Gardaí can control junctions

Follow the instructions of Gardaí and marshals at all times

Drink responsibly if you have alcohol beforehand

All cyclists must be over 18.
