Reason We Move is a portrait and interview project by Richard Peyton Photography, exploring the people behind the things they love.

Whether you run, lift, dance, climb, swim, cycle, play sport—or simply have something that gets you moving—Reason We Move is about hearing your story. It’s about the motivation, experiences, people and moments that give you a reason to keep moving.

Through relaxed filmed conversations and professional portrait photography, each session captures something more personal than a traditional athlete profile. The aim is to document you, your story and your reason for moving.

The project is shared through the @reasonwemove Instagram account, with the wider work also reaching a large audience through Richard Peyton Photography’s main Facebook page, which regularly receives over one million views per month.

The first Reason We Move session will take place at the Marina Market in Cork on Saturday, October 17th, with 14 individual slots available.

Each 15-minute session includes:

A relaxed filmed interview

4 simple questions including your name

Up to three edited, high-quality digital portraits

The opportunity to share your story and what matters to you

You don’t need to be an elite athlete, and you don’t need to have an extraordinary story. Everyone has a reason they move.

Reason We Move is about discovering those reasons and giving ordinary people a chance to tell their stories.
