Join us for a new demo driven collaborative indie music project “smachoface” featuring Adam O’ Donovan (M'ADAM), hegrá and guests

smachoface is a lo-fi demo driven indie project by local artist and songwriter Adam O’Donovan. Formerly releasing two studio albums under the indie-folk moniker M’ADAM, Adam introduced this new chapter with the lo-fi single Run of the Mill Guy in summer 2024. Under the name smachoface, he explores a hazier, more nonchalant sound, collaborating with local artists to create music that feels half-awake, casual yet existential, ironic but sincere. The project celebrates low-stakes everyday moments, searches for fun amid the quiet disasters of the modern world, wrestles with second-hand cool, and lingers on flashes of hopeful nostalgia.

Playing in Maureen’s on the 12th of September, Adam is joined by local artist hegrá as both play recently recorded demos over the past year as part of smachoface’s first birthday party.
