Land art • giant puppets • bug mansions • live music • creative making • plus lots more!!

Step into a world of creativity, nature and imagination at the Peace Orchard Community Festival — a joyful afternoon of making, wandering, connecting and celebrating the natural world together.

Across the Orchard you’ll discover trees wrapped and decorated by Yarn at the Yard, beautiful land art installations, and handmade creations developed through our Thrive programme. Creative Kindness will be hosting a magical “Creatures and Critters” area, while Groundwork will build a giant bug mansion celebrating the tiny wildlife that keeps our ecosystems thriving.

Flawed Mandrake Theatre will lead playful mask and banner making before guiding a colourful procession through the Orchard with their extraordinary life-sized puppets.

Visitors can take part in hands-on creative activities including willow craft with Anne Forgan, nature journalling with Chriselle and there are drip in sessions including peace tree talismans, slow stitch, paper art, lantern making and more inside our Creative Marquee. This is where Peace Orchard artists and makers will be sharing simple ways to create with natural and recycled materials.

Families can relax in our giant picnic blanket area, explore the children’s book nook and storytelling space, or discover a woodland den hidden in the copse.

There will also be opportunities to connect with nature through practical making activities led by Coventry Urban Rangers, who will be helping visitors create bird boxes, while Brookside Eco Farm will be bringing seasonal produce and delicious treats from the land.

Food and refreshments will be available including ice cream and coffee vans, with more food traders to be announced.

The atmosphere across the Orchard will be gently soundtracked by acoustic performances from The Trees and a banjo trouoe with hopes of welcoming an a cappella choir during the afternoon.

Bring a picnic wander slowly, make something beautiful, and spend time with others in one of Coventry’s most peaceful and creative green spaces.

Its free but please book so we can manage numbers attending.
