Join Baking Bosses for an evening celebrating the people and stories behind the bakes.

After the first day of Cake International, come along to the Crowne Plaza Birmingham NEC for the launch of Built From Scratch: Volume One. Settle in, enjoy some food and spend a couple of hours getting to know other bakers.

About the book

Behind every baking business is a life you don’t see in the finished photographs.

Built From Scratch shares the real-life stories of four founding bakers as they navigate family, setbacks, fresh starts and building something of their own. It explores the experiences that shaped them, the decisions that changed their direction and what it takes to keep going when life doesn’t follow the plan.

Whether you’re thinking about selling your first cake or have been running a business for years, you may recognise something of yourself in their stories.

What to expect

Hosted by Baking Bosses founders Charlotte and Jo, this is a small, relaxed celebration with time to hear about the book, meet the featured bakers and have a proper conversation.

Your £30 ticket includes:

• Entry to the two-hour book launch

• Food during the evening

• A signed copy of Built From Scratch before it’s available to the wider public

• Photo opportunities with Charlotte, Jo and the featured bakers

• Time to meet other bakers and get to know the Baking Bosses community

Come with a friend or come on your own

You don’t need to be a Bake Boss Club member or have an established baking business to attend. If you’re joining us alone, let us know when you arrive and we’ll help with introductions.

Perhaps you’ve chatted with other bakers online and would love to meet them in person. Perhaps you’re visiting Cake International and want to make an evening of it. You’ll be very welcome.
