This classroom-based practical training course is delivered at The Mandatory Training Group's Coventry Training Centre. The session covers essential Basic Life Support theory, trainer-led demonstrations, supervised practice, scenario-based discussion and competence checks.

The course supports you in applying adult Basic Life Support, CPR, AED use, choking response, recovery position and emergency response procedures safely and confidently through realistic scenarios, supervised practice and feedback from an experienced trainer.

It is suitable for health and social care staff who need practical, role-relevant Basic Life Support training and evidence of competence for workplace compliance, refresher requirements or employer training records.

Your digital CPD certificate is issued after successful completion of the classroom session and practical assessment.

Important: When attending the practical session, please bring your booking confirmation and photo ID, arrive at least 15 minutes before the course starts, and wear suitable clothing for practical activities.

Learning outcomes

Summon emergency help promptly in line with local procedures

Explain the importance of national resuscitation guidance and local policy

Start CPR promptly and perform effective chest compressions with correct depth, rate and recoil

Use an AED safely and follow device prompts

Respond appropriately to adult choking

Place an unconscious breathing adult safely in the recovery position
