This is a fun and expressive workshop where you will create your own cup.

Kurinuki is a Japanese ceramic technique that can be used to create interesting and unique pieces of pottery.

In this workshop you will create a unique Yunomi tea cup.

The method involves carving and marking the exterior of a single block of clay followed by hollowing out the interior, layer by layer and finishing with, or without, a hand formed foot ring.

It is a very meditative process with an organic yet sculptural approach and a wonderful way to work with clay as there is no right or wrong result in terms of the aesthetics.

Every piece formed is different and can never be repeated exactly.

You will be shown all the skills needed to create a cup and shown different glaze variations to choose from. I will glaze your cup and post it out to you as soon as it’s ready, approx. 3 weeks.

Price includes all materials, glazes, firing and postage.
