Healthcare organisations face increasingly complex security challenges. Rising levels of violence and aggression against staff, alongside threats from terrorism, crime, unauthorised access, and risks to critical infrastructure, continue to place significant pressure on services.

These challenges are compounded by wider system pressures, including higher patient acuity, more complex healthcare needs, extended waiting times, funding constraints, reduced Police involvement through the Right Care, Right Person framework, and the absence of national oversight or assurance for healthcare security.
