Alternatively, there are free lay-bys on Staunton Lane near The Milking Parlour. What 3 words location for lay-by parking ///loitering.ridge.from
From the start, we’ll head into the Calke Abbey grounds, riding through to Calke Explorer on lovely flowing gravel tracks before making our way towards Ticknall. From there, the route takes us through woodland trails, hidden gravel paths and some of the best off-road riding the area has to offer. We’ll weave through beautiful countryside, dipping onto sections of the Cloud Trail and Tramway Trail, with plenty of stunning scenery and that real sense of adventure along the way.
The pace will be relaxed and social, but riders should be confident riding off-road, as the route includes a mix of gravel, woodland trails and uneven surfaces. There are also a few short sections on busier roads that connect the off-road parts of the route.
As always, we’ll stop for coffee and cake at The Stables in Staunton Harold.
As we are heading into Autumn/ Winter expect some of the off-road sections of this ride to be very muddy and sometimes challenging
Who is this ride suitable for? This ride is suitable for anyone that is comfortable riding off-road with gravel, muddy woods and fields with uneven surfaces, and distances of 30km. Not suitable for beginners.
