Are you 16–25, living in Derby, and ready to take your first step into a welding career?

“There’s currently a shortage of 40,000 welders in the UK – a fully qualified and experienced welder can earn £50,000 upwards, undoubtedly making welding a career choice worth pursuing”.

Able to commit to a 3-days week

Over 12-weeks: 23rd September to 18 Dec 2026

What will you be doing on the programme?

This fully funded programme gives you the chance to gain practical experience in engineering! You’ll spend 3 days a week developing your future through:

Employability skills training and meet the employer sessions

Engagement with various employers

Weekly 1 hour appointment with an Employment Advisor

Wednesdays 10am -12.30pm Employability training in a classroom

12 Practical training sessions at Engineered Learning, Friday 9am - 3pm .

Eligibility

- Any NEET YP living in Derby 16-21 years old

- A NEET YP that is living in Derby that is a Care Leaver or has SEND 16-25 years old
