About This Event

Step into the hidden world of Calke Abbey’s herbarium and explore plants in a beautifully hands-on way. In this creative two-hour evening session, you’ll have the chance to see part of the herbarium collection and discover more about this remarkable archive, much of which has rarely been seen. Inspired by the plants, patterns and stories held within the collection, you’ll then experiment with a range of botanical printing techniques, including Hapa Zome and printmaking using plant samples, to create your own unique artwork. This session is a chance to slow down, look closely and connect with both Calke’s natural history and the living landscape around you in a fresh, creative and memorable way.
