About This Event

Dúchas | The Spinner's Wheel for those aged 18 and over will be presented at the Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre in Derry on 7 October 2026 from 10:00. Tutor Lorna Shannon will lead this heritage craft session until 4pm. Full tickets are priced at £55.00 with a concession rate of £50.00.

Experience the heritage craft of spinning as you learn to transform fleece into yarn using a traditional spinning wheel. An absorbing introduction to one of Ireland's oldest textile skills.

As the evenings draw in, Dúchas – Heritage Craft Series offers a chance to gather, create and reconnect. Rooted in Ireland's rich craft traditions, these workshops celebrate the rituals of making, the passing on of skills and the simple pleasure of learning together by hand.
