A documentary exploring Lakota land, sovereignty and resistance, followed by a Q&A. Part of Developing International Solidarity programme.

The Bloody Sunday Trust presents a special screening of Lakota Nation vs. United States, followed by a Q&A, as part of our Developing International Solidarity programme.

This powerful documentary explores the Lakota struggle for land, sovereignty and justice, examining the history of the Black Hills and the continuing fight for Indigenous rights.

The screening takes place during the visit of an Indigenous delegation to Derry, continuing a long history of solidarity between Indigenous communities in the United States and the Bloody Sunday families. That connection dates back to 1985, when Indigenous activists including Clyde Bellecourt of the American Indian Movement travelled to Derry and marched in solidarity with the Bloody Sunday families.

The film offers an opportunity to explore these connections through the Lakota experience and to continue the wider conversation around colonialism, resistance, sovereignty and international solidarity.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A.

Places are strictly limited to 20 people.
