About This Event

The Playhouse in Derry hosts the Skull Forge mask making workshop on 28 October 2026. Over two days, attendees design and build their own skull head from scratch using provided materials and tools. Participants will learn costume-making skills used by theatre makers to create a finished piece for Halloween.

Get ahead this Halloween! Halloween is coming, and this year you're not buying a mask, you're building one. Over two days in the Skull Forge, you'll design and make your very own skull head from scratch. You'll plan your design, then shape and build your skull, and bring it to life with horns, paint effects and a wild finish. Along the way, you'll pick up real costume-making skills used by theatre makers, and you'll leave with a show-stopping piece to wear on the big night. No experience needed, just bring your imagination (and maybe a few gruesome ideas). All materials and tools are provided. *Please note this is a two-day workshop, so participants should be able to attend both days.*
