Join Us for the Accessible Bat Walk!
We have set up this free bat walk specifically with accessibility needs in mind. Whilst we and others run bat walks in other places in Dover and Kent, they can be tricky for some to attend. As places are limited, please only book onto this event if you have accessibility needs.
You are also welcome to bring one extra person with you, without needing a separate ticket for your guest, as long as they travel with you or park elsewhere (tickets are limited by there only being 20 parking spaces available, which must only be used by attendees with a confimed ticket - please bring confirmation of your ticket with you on the night).
Dover Council have kindly agreed to keep the cafe / disabled car park at Kearsney Abbey open late for us so we can park close to the meet point and event route. Once parked up, please meet just off the car park, next to the cafe at 20:15.
We will start with a brief talk about the bats we may encounter and how to use bat detectors, which we will give out for you to use for the event. We will then take a gentle and slow-paced walk through the grounds of Kearsney Abbey and Russell Gardens, with regular stops to listen and look for bats.
We will finish no later than 21:45 to allow time for people to leave the carpark by 22:00, when it will be locked up.
The route will be suitable for wheelchair users. Toilets will be kept open for us until 21:00. Please let us know of any other specific accessibility needs or tips you can give us to make sure the event is as inclusive as it can be for you.

THANK YOU to Dover District Council for providing a fantastic free and accessible venue, for keeping the car park and toilet open late for us and for providing the bat detectors for attendees to use. #DoverDistrictCouncil
