Join us for a brilliant afternoon with Rugby World Cup winner Lewis Moody MBE, supporting the incredible work of IMNDA.

The Sporting Club Ireland are honoured to confirm that Lewis Moody MBE will now join us for lunch on September 24th at Mackenzie’s, Dublin, in association with the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.

This promises to be a very special afternoon.

Guests will enjoy a three-course lunch, welcome drink, wine, a photo opportunity with Lewis, and an afternoon of inspiring conversation, while also helping to raise awareness and support for IMNDA.

Lewis enjoyed an extraordinary rugby career.

Nicknamed “Mad Dog”, anyone who watched him play will understand exactly why. He was one of the toughest, hardest-working and most fearless flankers of his generation.

But this afternoon is about much more than rugby.

Many people will now also know Lewis because of his recent MND diagnosis.

Since receiving that diagnosis, Lewis has faced the challenge with remarkable courage and positivity, while continuing to raise awareness, support and much-needed funds for the MND community.

MND has affected so many people and so many families.

While the high-profile sporting figures impacted by the disease may receive much of the attention, there are countless others living with MND every day, alongside their families, carers and the incredible people working tirelessly to support them.

There is also extraordinary work continuing in the search for better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

That is why this afternoon matters.

Of course, it will be brilliant to spend time in the company of a Rugby World Cup winner, British & Irish Lion and one of the great characters of the game.

But more importantly, it is an opportunity to come together, hear Lewis’s story, raise awareness and support the wider MND community.

We are genuinely honoured that Lewis will be joining us.
