Join us on Sunday, 19th July for a hands-on bog restoration workshop in the beautiful surroundings of Barnacullian, Co. Wicklow. Important! The shuttle will departure from The Custom House https://maps.app.goo.gl/pGNpWUaP3dZysFJk7 at 8 AM If travelling by your own, meeting point in Wicklow is https://maps.app.goo.gl/4HoAmJc6ooPtNG5UA at 9.30 AM Peatlands are among Ireland's most valuable ecosystems. They store carbon, support biodiversity, improve water quality, and help build resilience to climate change. During this practical workshop, we will learn about the importance of peatland restoration and contribute directly to restoring this unique habitat. This is a fantastic opportunity to spend a day outdoors, connect with fellow Climate Ambassadors, and take meaningful climate action while learning from those working on peatland conservation. Activities may include: 2 hours hike in Wicklow Mountains to the site (1 hour to go and one to return) Building small timber dams Erecting fencing around restoration areas Learning about peatland ecology and restoration techniques What to bring: Packed lunch and water bottle Weather-appropriate clothing Sturdy waterproof hiking boots Sunscreen and rain gear (this is Ireland, after all!) Important Information: Places are limited, and booking is essential. This is a practical outdoor event involving moderate physical activity. Gloves and tools will be provided. Please let us know in advance if you have any accessibility requirements or health considerations. Transport details, including any shuttle bus arrangements, will be shared closer to the event. The shared bus will depart from City Centre at 8 am. If you can no longer attend, please cancel your ticket or let us know so that we can offer your place to another participant.
