The Weird Girl Society meetup will bring together individuals interested in old Dublin history and strange urban anomalies at 14 Henrietta Street in Dublin on 29 August 2026. The event is free to attend. Various speakers will contribute to the gathering.
❗️please read description❗️Welcome to our next daytime gathering! We are leaning into old Dublin history & strange urban anomalies.
Hey weirdos! This meetup is split into two parts: an intimate indoor tour of the fully accessible 14 Henrietta Street museum and a relaxed outdoor picnic chat. You can join us for the whole day, or just meet us for the second half!
🕑THE TIMELINE:
10:50 AM - Arrive & Gather for Tour: Meet us directly outside the main entrance of 14 Henrietta Street (Dublin 1, DO1 HH34). We must arrive 10 minutes early as the tour starts sharp!
11:00 AM - 12.15 PM - The Guided Tour: A 75-minute intimate journey through Dublin's grand Georgian and eerie tenement history. (Note: The building is fully wheelchair accessible with an internal lift - more info on that further down)
12:15 PM - The Hungry Tree Pilgrimage: Once the tour finishes, we’ll head together for a quick visit to Dublin’s wonderfully bizarre, bench-eating Hungry Tree. 🌳
12:20 PM - From there, we’ll make our way together to Wolfe Tone Park (approx. 10 minutes away), a former churchyard turned city park. We’ll set up on the lawn for blankets, snacks, coffee and weird girl chats. 💀🧺🌿
👩🦼Accessibility & Sensory Guide We want everyone to feel safe, comfortable, and included. Here is a breakdown of what tc expect structurally and sensorially throughout the meetup:
Physical Accessibility & Mobility - 14 Henrietta Street: The building is fully accessible. There is a ramped entrance at the front and a lift servicing all tour levels. More info on their website!
Surfaces: The historical floors inside the museum can be slightly uneven.
Getting to the picnic: After our brief Hungry Tree stop, Wolfe Tone Park is approximately a 10-minute walk/roll away. The park is wheelchair accessible and has paved areas alongside its lawn. We’ll travel over together and nobody will be left behind.
Restrooms: A fully accessible bathroom is available on the ground floor of 14 Henrietta Street.
Pacing & Seating: The tour lasts 75 minutes and involves moving from room ta room. Portable folding chairs are available to borrow at the museum reception if you need to sit at any point.
Sensory & Environment: sensory kits are available to borrow from the reception desk. This features noise cancelling headphones and various toys and calming devices such as fidget toys and stress balls.
HOW TICKETS WORK (READ CAREFULLY!)
Because of how the museum handles bookings, we have a two-tier system for this event: * Tier 1: The Whole Day (Tour + Picnic) Capped strictly at 9 people due to museum slot sizes.
CRITICAL STEP: Claiming a ticket on this Eventbrite page does not give you entrance to the museum. To secure your spot, you must immediately go to the 14 Henrietta Street House Tours Booking Page and buy an individual adult ticket (€12) or concession ticket (€10) for the 29th August at 11:00 AM slot. Once you have your museum ticket receipt, claim a "Tour + Picnic" ticket here to confirm you are officially in! Tier 2: Picnic & Chat Only. No headcount cap! if you cannot make the tour, don't want to spend money, or the 9 "tour-spots are full, you are so welcome to join us for the social hangout. Simply grab a free "Picnic Only" ticket on this Eventbrite page so I can track numbers. Where to meet us: Gather at The Wolftone Park (beside Jervis) at 12:30 PM. Bring a blanket, some snacks/coffee, and your best weird energy!
