European Conference and Workshop organised by the European Geothermal Energy Council (EGEC) and the Geothermal Association of Ireland (GAI)
Following successful events in Berlin (2022), Aarhus (2023), Paris (2024) and Vienna (2025), the 5th edition of the European Geothermal District Heating & Cooling Days will be held in Dublin (Ireland), with a full-day Conference on Thursday, 3 September 2026, followed by a half-day Workshop on Friday, 4 September. This year's events are being organised by the European Geothermal Energy Council (EGEC) and the Geothermal Association of Ireland (GAI), in association with the GreetGeo project (Funded by the European Union).
The European Geothermal District Heating & Cooling Conference on Thursday, 3 September, will focus on Unlocking Geothermal Heating and Cooling Markets. The Conference will bring together leaders and experts from leading companies, as well as policy makers, project developers, investors and other stakeholders from across the whole of Europe. The Conference will look at ways to accelerate the deployment of geothermal heating, cooling and thermal storage solutions for districts, local networks and industrial applications.
As part of the programme for this year’s Geothermal District Heating & Cooling Days there will be a special Evening Event at the Jameson Distillery in Dublin on Thursday evening (3 September) including: Welcome Cocktail, Distillery Tour, Whiskey Tasking and a Networking Dinner.
The half-day Geothermal District Heating & Cooling Workshop on Friday, 4 September, will focus on Making Geothermal Investable in Ireland: Finance, Risk and Delivery. This will be a unique opportunity for service providers, investors, and heating/cooling end-users from Ireland and across Europe to collaborate on defining a roadmap for growing geothermal in a new market. End-users, public sector bodies, and investors will get the chance to learn directly from geothermal companies what it takes to deliver geothermal projects. In turn, geothermal companies will get to better understand the challenges from client and investor perspectives, and how these can be solved. Please note that the capacity of the Workshop is strictly limited to a maximum of 70 persons.

Payment must be received by 1 September 2026 to confirm the registration.
Photography and video recording
Conference participants are hereby informed that photographs and video recordings will be taken during the event for the use of EGEC and GAI in the framework of their social media and other communication activities during and following the Conference, and by any other media authorised by the Conference organisers.
By registering for the Conference, the organisers understand that you are giving your consent to appear in any photos or video recordings. In case you do not wish to appear in any photos or videos, we would ask you to let us know in advance of the Conference by sending a message to the organisers (events@egec.org).
