Join Katie Ní Riain, an Early Years Manager working with Gaeloideachas to build your confidence in introducing and using the Irish language with children in your Early Years Service!
This interactive workshop introduces early years educators and managers to the principles of immersion education in preschool settings and explores how language learning can be naturally embedded into daily routines through play, music, storytelling and meaningful interactions.
Drawing on the experience of the naíonra sector, the session will provide practical insights into how immersion approaches support children’s language development, identity, and cultural awareness in early childhood environments.

A key focus of the workshop will be sharing accessible Irish-language resources and supports available to early years educators, including learning materials, songs and rhymes, online resources, publications, and CPD opportunities that can help educators introduce or strengthen Irish language use in their settings.
Participants will leave the session with practical ideas, useful resources, and increased confidence in supporting language immersion and bilingual learning in early childhood.
Come along and discover how to use simple games, songs and action rhymes to encourage young children to learn and enjoy Irish.
