Turn code into embroidery! Join CESI at TOG for a beginner-friendly TurtleStitch workshop. Materials included. Join our friends at CESI for an afternoon of coding and embroidery at TOG Hackerspace. TurtleStitch lets you create embroidery patterns using code blocks. It’s used as a teaching tool for coding, but it’s also a fun way to design something you can stitch. Whether you’re new to coding or new to embroidery, there’ll be plenty to learn. This workshop is aimed at adults interested in embroidery, creative coding or teaching coding. The workshop will be led by Mags Amond, with support from John Hegarty and Helen O’Kelly. During the afternoon, you’ll: Learn about the history of TurtleStitch. Use code blocks to create embroidery designs. Stitch out designs using TOG’s industrial embroidery machine and domestic machines brought along for the day. When: Saturday 21 November 2026, 2pm to 5pm Where: TOG Hackerspace, Unit 1B Motor City, Kylemore Road, Dublin 12 Tickets: €10, including materials Who it’s for: Adults, including beginners. CESI is a community of educators interested in using information technology in education. We’re delighted to welcome them to TOG to share their skills. Our usual Open Social starts at 7pm that evening. Join us later for homemade pizza from homemade pizza ovens and a chat with fellow makers and nerds.
