Formed by childhood friends Julia Ortiz and Dolores Aguirre, the project emerged in the summer of 2011 when a song, a sunset, and a shared desire to sing together unexpectedly set them on a path that would resonate with audiences around the world.

Their story became a global phenomenon with the release of “Ríe Chinito,” a video that has surpassed 34 million views and sparked a devoted international community built organically through word of mouth, social networks, and the transformative power of their live performances.

Since then, Perotá Chingó has performed more than 500 concerts across 20 countries, touring extensively throughout Latin America and Europe while remaining proudly independent.
