On Saturday 10 October, from 1–4 p.m., we will gather around the table to read and explore Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of being Earnest On Saturday 10 October, from 1–4 p.m., we will gather around the table to read and explore Oscar Wilde’s celebrated comedy The Importance of Being Earnest. A wonderfully sharp and playful work of mistaken identities, social conventions, romance and wit, The Importance of Being Earnest offers plenty to explore through a shared reading of the text. Tabletop Readings is about bringing people together around plays — to read, listen, discuss and discover what emerges when a work is explored collectively. The sessions are informal, intimate and open to anyone with an interest in theatre. Whether you're an actor, writer, theatre-maker, student, regular theatre-goer or simply curious about experiencing a play in a different way, you're very welcome to join us. Details Saturday 10 October 2026 1–4 p.m. United Arts Club, Dublin €15 to attend €20 for drop-ins Tea and coffee will be provided.
