We transport you back centuries to the mediaeval monastery here at Durham Cathedral and entrance you with the sound of Vespers for Christmas sung by candlelight by the Cathedral’s Lay Clerks and Choral Scholars before the young boy and girl Choristers process through the sacred space singing plainsong before Richard Allen on the harp strikes up the stunningly beautiful sound of Benjamin Britten’s enchanting Ceremony of Carols sung by the Choristers. Free of charge with a retiring collection. Doors open at 5.15 p.m. Lasts 60 minutes. If you do not have a promo code, please do not worry, you are still most welcome to attend this free event
