Explore Peterlee’s past, share your memories and help piece together the story of a town built around a vision of the future.

DO YOU REMEMBER THE FUTURE?

Peterlee was built around a vision of the future. What happened to that vision?

PRTV (Peterlee Relational Test Vehicle) is an ongoing investigation into Peterlee’s past, present and possible futures. We’re looking at how the town was planned, how it developed, what changed, and what might still be possible.

THE EXPERIMENT SO FAR

This first session will explore Peterlee’s history and the stories that make up the town’s collective memory.

We’ll work together with historical material, timelines, memories and personal experiences to build a picture of Peterlee as it was, as it is, and as it is remembered. We’re interested in what the existing record tells us, what might be missing, and what different people remember.

You don’t need to be an artist, a historian or an expert on Peterlee. If you live in the town, have lived here in the past, or have a connection to it, your knowledge and experiences are welcome.
