Fancy a little festive magic, fresh sea air and some lovely company this Christmas?

Join Neurodivergent Sussex for a relaxed, welcoming and inclusive Christmas walk around the beautiful Sovereign Harbour in Eastbourne.

Whether you’re looking to meet new people, enjoy a gentle winter walk or simply spend time with people who understand the neurodivergent experience, you’re very welcome to join us.

We’ll wander around the harbour together, taking in the boats, waterfront views and festive atmosphere before spending some time exploring the Winterland Festival and enjoying its Christmas festivities.

There’ll be plenty of opportunities to stop, chat, take in the sights and enjoy the occasion at a comfortable pace. We’ll also have the opportunity to stop for a warming drink at a local café along the way.

You might even want to wear your favourite Christmas jumper, festive hat or something sparkly to get into the Christmas spirit! 🎅

🎅 What to expect

✨ A relaxed walk around the beautiful Sovereign Harbour waterfront.

🎡 Time to wander around Winterland Festival and soak up the festive atmosphere.

☕ An optional café stop for a warming drink and a chat.

🌊 Fresh sea air, lovely views and a chance to enjoy the outdoors.

💚 An opportunity to meet other neurodivergent people and build meaningful connections in a friendly, inclusive environment.

🎄 Festive jumpers and Christmas hats are very welcome!

🌿 The walk

The route will be approximately 4 km (2.5 miles), following mostly flat paths around Sovereign Harbour.

We’ll take our time, with opportunities to pause, chat and enjoy the surroundings. Please note that we’ll be walking outdoors in December, so dress warmly and bring a waterproof jacket in case of changeable weather.

We’ll meet at Waterworks, which will be our starting and finishing point. Parking is available nearby.

We’ll then make our way around the harbour, visiting different areas before heading towards Winterland Festival to enjoy the festivities together.

The café stop and time spent exploring Winterland will form part of our relaxed group outing.

Please note that any purchases at the café or Winterland will be at your own expense.

💚 Who can attend?

Neurodivergent Sussex welcomes neurodivergent adults of all ages and backgrounds, including those with ADHD, autism, AuDHD and other forms of neurodivergence.

Whether you’re formally diagnosed, self-identifying or exploring your neurodivergent identity, you’re welcome here.

You don’t need to know anyone beforehand, and there’s no pressure to be sociable in a particular way. Come as you are, take things at your own pace and enjoy being part of a community where different minds are welcome.
