Arab Strap will perform at The Liquid Room in Edinburgh on 11 October 2026. The Scottish indie rock duo are celebrating their 30th anniversary with new music. Their upcoming album Half-Told Tales is set for release on 4 September 2026.
Arab Strap started out as an intimate project with home-recorded tapes shared between friends, but after the unexpected success of their inimitable debut single ‘The First Big Weekend’ they quickly found themselves, along with pals Mogwai, as some of the most exciting and cherished music coming out of Scotland. The band’s first gig was recorded live for John Peel, who became an early devotee. Arab Strap are thirty years old this year, so they've decided to celebrate by doing what they enjoy most: by making new music. The new album, Half-Told Tales, will be released on Rock Action Records on September 4th – almost thirty years to the day since their first single – and is available to pre-order now.

Arab Strap are an independent rock band from Falkirk, Scotland, UK, signed for the majority of their albums to independent record label Chemikal Underground. The duo had a short lived flirtation with a major label at the peak of their critical acclaim (after "Philophobia") when they signed to Go!Beat records (a former independent label now owned by Universal). Vocalist Aidan Moffat and multi-instrumentalist Malcolm Middleton met in Falkirk, bonded over their mutual love for Drag City recording artists such as Smog and Will Oldham
