Autumn Term: Anyone Can Draw Portraits is held at Birchwood Art Studio. The class explores various approaches to portraiture, including pencil drawing, quick sketches, and tonal charcoal studies.
In this class we will explore the many ways to approach a portrait - from pencil drawing to quick sketches and tonal charcoal studies. Referencing the work of a variety of brilliant artists will help students identify different ideas and techniques and try them out, working alternately from the model and from photo reference. The emphasis will be on experimentation and creative process, all in an encouraging and supportive environment. Suitable for all levels. All materials and refreshments are included in the course fee.
