About This Event

The Light Room in Linlithgow will host an Omotesenke Chanoyu workshop on 22 November 2026. Participants will learn the fundamentals of the Japanese tea ceremony and its associated etiquette, with green tea and sweets provided. A pre-booking questionnaire must be completed to confirm attendance, and those unable to sit on the floor are advised to await future sessions.

Omotesenke (traditional) Chanoyu (Japanese tea ceremony) workshop. You can learn what is the Japanese Tea Ceremony, called Chanoyu, and participate in a tea ceremony. You will also learn the basic etiquette required when participating in a ceremony. Green tea and sweets are provided. *You will not be able to participate if you have difficulty sitting on the floor. However, sessions which don't require sitting on floor, will be organised in the future. You will be required to complete a questionnaire before your space is confirmed.
