About This Event

Collection Centre Tours are scheduled for 15 September 2026 at the National Museums Collection Centre in Edinburgh starting at 10:30. The tour allows visitors to discover how collections are stored and researched. More information regarding access is available on the website.

Discover the secrets of how we store and research our collections. Find out how our collections are used in international research and see objects rarely on public display. There are two tours on offer: Scottish History & Culture features treasures from our archaeological collections and industrial objects from more recent history. Natural World explores some of the unique specimens from Scotland's diverse and abundant natural world. Advance booking is essential. For ages 14+. Additional Dates: 22 September 2026, 20 October 2026, 24 November 2026, 26 January 2027, 23 February 2027 Come along to Holyrood Park and join this guided walk to learn more about Arthur's Seat's turbulent past, created by fire and ice! Join Surgeons' Hall Museums on their 5* weekend walking tour through Edinburgh’s old town and hear tales of old Edinburgh, disease, dissection and curious methods of treatment!
