Comprising theatre, comedy, films, workshops and tours, Edinburgh Deaf Festival is an accessible celebration of deaf culture, language and heritage. Offering a festival for everyone, Edinburgh Deaf Festival offers a range of engaging activities and performances designed to showcase deaf culture, language and arts. Running over 10 days, this year’s programme includes 80 events, all of which are accessible to deaf and hearing audiences through BSL, BSL/English interpretation, or captions. While most events take place at Deaf Action on Albany Street in Edinburgh’s New Town, a small number of performances and tours take place in other locations, such as Holyrood Park, National Museum of Scotland, and Port O’ Leith Boxing Club. There’s plenty of workshops to get involved in, from storytelling, boxing, and music, to comedy, karaoke and ceilidhs. Join one of the tours to learn more about the treasures of the Scottish Deaf Archive, Anne Hardy’s immersive exhibition at Talbot Rice Gallery, or Harry Potter in Edinburgh. Test your knowledge at a pub quiz, or Join Scotland’s first BSL Book Club, Sign between the Lines. The festival runs from 07 to 16 August 2026. Tickets for events include chargeable, Pay what you can, and free to attend.
