A guided historical walk celebrating 250 years of Unitarianism in Edinburgh will take place on 26th September 2026. The walk is free to attend. It will be a fun and interactive event, including coffee and conversations.

A fun, free history walk in central Edinburgh celebrating 250 years of Unitarianism. Join us for coffee, chats and fascinating stories!

Join us for a fun group history walk and learn all about the amazing 250 year history of Unitarianism in Edinburgh. Together, we chart a course between the four historical meeting sites of the Edinburgh Unitarians, stopping for breaks, coffee and chats along the way. All are welcome - Unitarian or not!

The fascinating history of the Edinburgh Unitarians has been painstakingly researched by Margery Mackay, who has packed all her historical insights in to this walk, and will lead it on the day along with Ewen Sim.

Walkers should meet at 2pm on the corner of Broughton Street and Albany Street. The walk will culminate at around 5pm at St. Mark's Unitarian Church on Castle Terrace, the current home of Unitarianism in Edinburgh, where a fun and informal celebratory service will be given by Reverend Janine Sim to celebrate 250 years.

This is part of a series of events to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Unitarianism. Do make sure to have a look at other events, including a "Crafternoon" for all ages on Sunday 27th September.

If anyone is interested in this walk, but is has difficulty walking, you are welcome to walk part-route, or to join us for the service afterwards. Please get in touch and a map may be provided. Margery's scrapbook will also be available to view in the church after the walk.

The walk is free, but make sure to book a space, as we expect spots to fill up!
