Aimed at parents of children around 1-5 years wanting to learn about or experiencing stressful mealtimes and children's restrictive eating behaviours. This workshop covers:
- Why do children develop fussy eating behaviours?
- Planning for a positive mealtime – what can I do in advance?
- Control and choice – getting the balance right.
- At the table – techniques to use during mealtimes.
- Appetite and portion sizes
- Talking about food – how our language plays a part.
- Early years nutrition
Part of the Healthy Little Foodies Project, delivered by Edinburgh Community Food's Early Years Nutrition Specialist Morven.
Please select the ticket that is right for you. Thanks to funding, a small number of community places are available for each session. If you're in a position to do so, choosing a standard ticket helps us keep these places available for families who need them most.
£4 Standard Ticket
Our standard ticket helps us cover the cost of running our sessions and ensures we can continue providing a welcoming space for local families. If you're able to, please choose this option.
Funded Community Place
We have a limited number of funded places available for families who would otherwise be unable to attend. If cost is a barrier right now, you're very welcome to book one of these places.
We have an incredible team of volunteers supporting our groups at Kin Collective and we're so thankful for the kindness and support that our volunteers and group attendees show each other. Kin is a space of kindness, free from judgement, and you will always receive a warm welcome. We are grateful to everyone for supporting and upholding these values.
How to find us: Our main Hub is at the Lochend Road Hall of Leith St Andrew's, next to Leith Links (EH6 8HT) which has a mixture of free and paid on street parking (please double check signage). It is also accessible by buses stopping nearby at Duke Street, Easter Road and Leith Walk which is also the nearest tram stop.
Entry is via the first gate on the right hand side of Lochend Road, where there is step free access and a bell at the blue door at the entrance.
