In this fascinating lunchtime talk, Human Remains Conservator Cat Irving explores the remarkable story of the Great Windmill Street Anatomy School, one of the most important centres for anatomical teaching in eighteenth-century London.

Founded by the renowned Scottish anatomist William Hunter, the theatre played a pivotal role in the development of medical education and surgical training. Drawing on objects, archives, and historical accounts, this talk will uncover the people, practices, and innovations that shaped this influential institution, its lasting impact on the study of anatomy, and how it contributed to the founding collection of Surgeons' Hall Museum

Talks will last approximately 30 minutes and there will be tea and coffee available for ticket holders.
