About This Event

New College Festival presents Lamorna Ash at Martin Hall, New College in Edinburgh on 7 November 2026. Tickets range from £8.00 to £12.00 for this cultural gathering focused on contemporary religious thought.

Lamorna Ash – 'Don’t Forget We’re Here Forever: A New Generation’s Search for Religion'

In her wildly successful new book, ‘Don’t Forget We’re Here Forever’ (Bloomsbury, 2025), Lamorna Ash asks why many young people facing an age of uncertainty are turning to faith. Raised with only a smattering of knowledge of Christianity, Ash started her journey after writing two friends’ unexpected conversions. From here, she began encountering a recurring phenomenon: in an age of disconnection and apathy, a new generation was discovering, wrestling with, and reshaping religion for itself. Through interviews and her own deeply personal journey with religion, experiencing Evangelical youth festivals to Quaker meetings, a silent Jesuit retreat along the Welsh coastline to a monastic community in the Inner Hebrides, Ash investigates what drives young people in the twenty-first century to embrace Christianity.
