3-hour workshop exploring Traditional Chinese Medicine theory and Qi Gong practice
Qi Gong is a mindful movement practice where we work with our life-force energy to help feel less stressed, more energised, and in greater harmony with ourselves, others and with the rest of nature. Qi Gong has ancient roots and is based on Taoist philosophy and Traditional Chinese Medicine theory (TCM).
This workshop will cover:
Introduction to TCM Five Elements Theory and the associated organs and meridians (energy pathways)
Acupressure & self massage to activate the meridians and specific points
Qi Gong practice and meditation for each of the Five Elements
In TCM, the Five Elements (Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth) compose who you are physically and emotionally. Whilst each has its own unique qualities, they interconnect in complex ways. When the elements are balanced and in harmony, we experience optimal health and wellness. Read more here
Bring an exercise mat if you have one.
If you have a physical or mental health medical condition that might affect your ability to participate, or affect your or other people’s safety or enjoyment, you should take appropriate medical advice and inform me of your condition. Please also let me know if you are pregnant.
What to wear/bring
Wear warm loose clothing. There are yoga mats and blankets in the Studio but feel free to bring your own. You can practice in bare feet or wear socks if you prefer.
