The Scots Fiddle Festival will celebrate its 30th anniversary starting on 20 November 2026 at The Pleasance in Edinburgh. The festival will feature a concert and various workshops, showcases, and sessions over the weekend, catering to all ages and interests.
30 Years of the Scots Fiddle Festival This November marks the 30th year of the Scots Fiddle Festival where a fantastic line-up awaits. With artists hailing from as far as Canada, to a lot closer to home in Scotland, the festival kicks off with a concert on Friday 20th November, featuring Scottish fiddler Gordon Gunn and Canadian duo Rachel Davis and Darren McMullen. The following two days will be filled with workshops, showcases and sessions. There is something for all ages - even the little ones who can join Celine Donoghue both mornings with her Trad Tunes for Bairns (ages 0-7). On Saturday night you have the difficult task of choosing between a ceilidh led by the Robert Fish Band, or a concert featuring Isla Ratcliffe - The Scottish Four Seasons, The Bow Brothers and a new addition to the programme - Pierre Schryer and Danielle Enblom with Natalie Haas. If you still aren’t tired after that, you can head along to the Cabaret Bar for the Festival Club where you can see local and international artists make un-billed appearances! The Cabaret Bar will be open all day over the weekend serving food and drinks. Feel free to drop in, take your instrument to the all-day session and spend time browsing the stalls. Committee members will be available to answer any questions, last minute ticket booking or just to say hello! Launched in 1996 with the aim of promoting and sustaining traditional Scots fiddle music, the Scots Fiddle Festival brings people together every year from all over the world - both performers and audience members - and continues to inspire thousands of people to enjoy and take part in traditional music each year. In 2018, the festival moved to its new home at The Pleasance, creating a lovely festival experience all under one roof. Join us for our 30th birthday celebrations on Friday 20th - Sunday 21st November. For tickets and more information head to www.scotsfiddlefestival.com.
