Location: Forth Ports, 31 Bath Road, Leith, Edinburgh, EH6 7AH and Online
Speakers: Sara Duncan Head of Transport and Logistics William Grant and Sons and Neil Gould Chairman of Freight and Logistics Policy Group, CILT
The tour will show us how investment by Forth Ports has made Leith the leading offshore wind and renewables hub of Scotland. We shall then hear in-person and online from our two speakers on supply-chain infrastructure.
Sara Duncan is Head of Transport and Logistics at William Grant and Sons which was founded in 1887. Its headquarters are at Dufftown on Speyside and it is the largest of the handful of Scotch whisky distillers remaining in family ownership, with Glenfiddich its best-known brand.
Neil Gould’s recent submission to the Scottish Parliament inquiry into the country's supply chain addresses key issues including skills shortage, a need to plan efficient and employee-friendly interchanges with integrated technology, and the importance of transferring freight from road to rail.
