About This Event

The Binks Hub Celebration Day Reception will be held at the Greyfriars Charteris Centre in Edinburgh on 8 October 2026. The event will recognise key partners and collaborators as part of the wider celebration day.

Celebrate with us as we recognise key partners and collaborators at our Binks Hub reception and networking event.

Part of the Binks Hub Celebration Day

Please join us for a relaxed reception honouring the fantastic achievements of our partners and collaborators over the five years of the Binks Hub!

We will celebrate with a selection of poetry performances related to projects from across the Hub, followed by a few words from the Co-Directors of the Binks Hub, and closing with some time for networking.

Please arrive from 4pm for a prompt 4:15pm start.

Performances will be poets including:

Jamie Campbell - a Care Experienced former Sports student at the University of Stirling, who collaborated with the University of Edinburgh on research exploring how Scottish universities can support Care Experienced students to build and sustain friendships. His research found that shared experiences can help students form meaningful connections, while younger and undergraduate students were more likely than older and postgraduate students to view friendships as an important source of support during their studies.

Georgi Gill - a poet and academic working in medical humanities. She was a 2025-26 Public Engagement Fellow at the Institute of Advanced Studies in the Humanities, the University of Edinburgh. Her poetry collection Limbo was shortlisted for a Saltire ‘Best First Book’ Award and she edited an anthology of poems about multiple sclerosis, poeMS. Georgi is currently writing a novel exploring the dubious choices that chronic illness can lead us to make.

JL Williams - a poet, librettist and yoga teacher, her background is in writing, art, collaboration and creative learning. She is currently Creative Projects Manager at Edinburgh Futures Institute where she leads on Utopia Lab and a portfolio of projects and exhibitions that connect the work of the Institute to communities within the University of Edinburgh and beyond its walls.

This event will take place in the Binks Hall in the Greyfriars Charteris Centre.
