A walk and talk event is a forthcoming outdoor activity at Dalkeith Country Park in Edinburgh. The event is free to attend and open to unpaid carers living in or caring for someone in the area.
Enjoy the benefits of walking and meet others while being out in nature.
This event is only open to unpaid carers living in or caring for someone in Edinburgh and Midlothian.
About the event: Our walks are gentle and a great opportunity to get some fresh air and a little bit of time out! No need to attend every month, book separately each month.
The VOCAL Midlothian local attraction and outdoor group will go for walks and visit attractions in local areas.
A VOCAL representative will arrive at 10:15am and will meet everyone in front of the Palace. The Palace is to your left if entering from the Town Gate (the Town gate can be found on Dalkeith High Street). The Palace is sign posted from the car parks.
The walk will start promptly at 10:30am.
If you need to contact us on the day, the mobile number is 07950648755. Please note, this mobile number is only used for events and activities purposes only and not monitored out with event days.
Directions to Dalkeith Country Park can be found on their website https://www.dalkeithcountrypark.co.uk/plan-a-visit/.
Please note there is a charge to park in the car park at Dalkeith Country Park.
Remember to dress for the weather. If there are adverse weather conditions, we will do a shorter walk and head to the coffee shop for a cuppa. Refreshments provided by VOCAL.
The walking route will last just over 1 hour (around 9,000 steps) and although the route will be generally flat, there may be uneven ground, small gradients, muddy ground and stairs. Participants are expected to provide their own appropriate clothing and shoes, including waterproof clothing for wet days. Participants are responsible for assessing their own risk and the safety of themselves.
If you have any questions, require assistance or support to enable you to attend, please let us know by emailing carertraining@vocal.org.uk or call 0808 196 6666 (option 2).
