The essentials for playing improv, plus a bit of sparkle!

This is the first evening of a five week course to try out and see if it is for you.

Fun and laughter guaranteed!

This is an introduction to the playful theatre craft of Improv which creates stories, scenes and playful games with no script. It will cover elements of teamwork, saying yes to things, building on ideas, being bold, developing characters, trusting the flow and trusting yourself to be able to make things up on the spot as well as supporting your team to do the same. It is open to all levels to learn or hone their fundamental skills.

Playfulness and laughter in abundance, you will learn so much with ease and support. Growing in confidence is a happy by-product!

6.30pm to 8.30pm

If you like it, then you may sign up for the rest of the course - four more sessions for £60 total - not a drop-in, the course will be closed to newcomers from the second week for the maximum benefit of attendees as I find people learn faster and feel bolder as they settle in with a team.

ABOUT CATHY TOWERS

Cathy is an experienced improviser with over a decade of experience. She has performed as part of The Nursery House team "Tiny Dinos", as well as Improperly and Everyday People. She has appeared in acting roles with Exe Ensemble, Northcott Theatre, Scratchworks, and Four of Swords. With a background in public speaking, she has had feedback that her Improv for Speakers workshop was one of the best ever workshops at the Professional Speaking Association. With a regular radio show on Phonic FM for many years, Cathy also hosts events at places like Exeter Phoenix and Exmouth Festival.
