The People Planet Profit Food & Drink Business Event will take place on 29 September 2026 at The Corn Barn in Exeter. This forthcoming gathering provides ideas and resources specifically designed to support businesses within the Devon food and drink sectors. Ideas and resources to support your Devon food or drink business

The food and drink sector is facing increasing pressures, from extreme weather and supply chain disruption to workforce challenges. Join us to explore practical ways to adapt, strengthen resilience, protect staff welfare, and uncover opportunities in a rapidly changing landscape.

Hosted by Devon Food Partnership, Food Drink Devon and Devon Business Support we look forward to learning from local food and drink businesses who’ve adapted their businesses, and learn what’s worked for them.

In response to feedback, we've redesigned our People Planet Profit events to create more time for businesses to share what's working, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.

We will have two panel Q&A sessions, time for connecting with other attendees while sharing food.

🎤 Panel 1: Coping with Heatwaves and Storms, how food and drink businesses adapt and plan for the future

▪ Host Greg Parsons, Chair of Food Drink Devon and Owner of Sharpham Cheese

▪ Sam Walton, GM at The Bull Inn & Course Lead for Regenerative Hospitality

▪ Andrew Ward, MD at Empire Services

▪ Pete Falloon, Professor of Climate Resilient Food Systems and Met Office Food Security Science Lead

🎤 Panel 2: Ice Cream and Tomatoes? Adapting to the climate to make profit

▪ Host Greg Parsons, Chair of Food Drink Devon and Owner of Sharpham Cheese

▪ Amanda Ringelburg, Owner of Granny Gothards

▪ Andy Gray, Owner of MC Kelly

▪ Robin Jackson, Director of Rural Business School, Duchy College

▪ Additional panelists to be announced

There’ll be practical ideas to take away, whether you're just starting out or looking to improve what you already do, and, opportunity to connect with other Devon businesses. All attendees will be given information about available funded business support programmes.

Food will be provided (alternatives are available for those with dietary requirements).

PLEASE SEND QUESTIONS FOR THE PANELISTS AHEAD OF THE EVENT to sushila.moles@devon.gov.uk. You will also have opportunity to ask on the day.
