About This Event

Rag-Rugging is a workshop at Stonehouse Creek in Plymouth on 10 November 2026. Participants learn to re-purpose fabric scraps into rugs or wall hangings using hooking and progging techniques. All materials are provided, though attendees may bring old t-shirts and woollens.

Course description: Rag rugging is a traditional craft, which involves “hooking and progging” techniques, re-purposing old fabric scraps into functional home decor. You will have the chance to experiment with the two basic techniques, designing and making a unique rug wall hanging on your own. In the third session you could carry on with your project or making rag wreaths and decorations using rag rug techniques. All materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring old t-shirts and woollens to turn into rags. Teaching and Learning Approaches: Workshop
