Critically acclaimed pianist Will Butterworth returns to 12 Bar leading a dynamic and highly interactive jazz trio.

Melodic, swinging and adventurous, the trio moves between contemporary compositions, reimagined standards and spontaneous improvisation—with each musician helping shape the music in the moment.

Butterworth’s music has been featured on Jazz FM and BBC Radio 3, while The Guardian described the trio as “thrilling… fresh and immediate.” The Jazzmann praised him as “a brilliant pianist,” highlighting his “stunning displays of virtuosity.”

For this performance, Will is joined by exceptional Cornish double bassist James Macphail and a guest drummer to be announced.

Expect lyrical piano playing, deep musical conversation and three outstanding musicians exploring just how far the classic piano-trio format can travel.

For fans of: Brad Mehldau, Keith Jarrett, Bill Evans and the Esbjörn Svensson Trio.
