Whether you’re returning to dating after many years, newly single, or simply prefer meeting people in person rather than through apps, you’ll be very welcome.

Most guests come on their own, and many tell me afterwards they needn’t have worried. If you’re feeling a little unsure, you’re certainly not alone.

Before long, the room is full of conversation, laughter and people wondering why they didn’t do it sooner.

You’ll enjoy a series of relaxed, one-to-one conversations with other local singles. Each conversation lasts just a few minutes – enough time to discover whether you’d like to get to know someone a little better.

Everything is explained at the start of the evening, so there’s nothing to worry about. You can simply relax, enjoy the conversations and be yourself.

Meet your host

Every ZEST Speed Dating evening is personally organised and hosted by me, Sarah Briggs.

I’ll be there to welcome you when you arrive, explain how everything works, and make sure you feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the evening.

Having hosted singles events for many years, I know that most people arrive feeling a little nervous. That’s completely normal – and those nerves usually disappear once the conversations begin.

My aim is simple: to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere where genuine local singles can enjoy good conversation, feel completely at ease, and leave having had a genuinely enjoyable evening.

We aim for a balanced group, typically around 12 men and 12 women.

What to expect

A calm, well-organised evening where everything is taken care of

A series of 4–5 minute one-to-one conversations

A relaxed, comfortable venue, with free on-site parking

A short break halfway through

A simple, private matching process afterwards

Date & time: Wednesday 19th August, 7:00pm–9.30pm

Location: Browns Brasserie & Bar, 7 Haven Rd, Exeter EX2 8BP

Ticket price: £29 per person (food and drinks purchased separately)

Parking: Ample free parking — simply enter your car registration on arrival

Who can attend?

This event is for singles aged 50–65 who are open to meeting someone in real life.

Everyone attending is there with genuine intent — simply to meet and see if there’s a connection.

How it works

7:00pm

Arrive, check in, and get settled with a drink. You’ll receive your dating sheet and number.

(Please arrive by 7:15pm so we can begin on time)

7:20pm

The dating begins. Ladies remain seated, and gentlemen rotate.

Each conversation lasts around 4–5 minutes, with a clear signal to move on.

Halfway break

Time to pause, refresh, or top up your drink.

9.30pm

The evening finishes, with the option to stay on for a drink.

After the event

You will receive a short online form the following morning to submit your matches.

To be included, please return this by Saturday at 12pm.

Match results are then shared over the weekend.

If there are no mutual matches, you will still be notified.

Tickets are refundable up to 30 days before the event (less Eventbrite fees)

One transfer to a future ZEST Speed Dating event may be requested with at least 14 days' notice, subject to availability.

Food and drinks are purchased separately

Please book within the advertised age range (ID may be requested)

Your mobile number will be taken at booking and used only for communication relating to the event you are attending.
