Run the Ben Nevis Horseshoe , summiting Ben Nevis and traversing the grade 1 scramble, Carn Mor Dearg arete (CMD) guided by Girls on Hills

This guided skyrun is a classic horseshoe and round of the UK's highest mountain, Ben Nevis and its neighbour Carn Mor Dearg. These two Munros of over 4000ft are joined by the spectacular Carn Mor Dearg (CMD) arete, an exposed grade 1 scramble overlooking the dramatic North Face of Ben Nevis.

Our 16km/1600m route has long been a mountaineering classic but in recent years, has gained worldwide popularity with skyrunners on account of the (recently cancelled) Salomon Ben Nevis Skyline and previously, the Ben Nevis Ultra.

This Girls on Hills event is ideal for those who had a race entry cancelled for 2026 Ben Nevis Skyline race (ticket costs have been reduced to help support those who have had their plans impacted by the recent sad news). However, you do not need to have a cancelled race entry to attend.

Although Girls on Hills has been official recce provider for Skyline Scotland (Ourea Events) 2018-2025, this event from Girls on Hills is not assciated with Ourea Events and is not a race! Instead, expect a sociable guided skyrun and a relaxed journey around this scenic route, with plenty of walking and breaks for snacks, snaps and faff! You will be guided by one of our experienced local mountain leaders, for whom this route is a regular stomping ground!

There are no prerequisites but you should have some experience of hillwalking/fell running and be capable of comfortably running 10km on trail to get the most out of this guided skyrunning experience. Some experience of easy scrambling or a head for heights would be helpful!

Upon booking you will receive a full kit list and details or where to meet your Girls on Hills guide. We can't wait to show you this Lochaber favourite. It's gonna knock your socks off!

*Skyline Scotland 2026 is now cancelled as Ourea Events has recently ceased trading.
