Argyllshire Gathering - Oban Highland Games

Come to the “Gateway to the Isles”, the beautiful coastal town of Oban and take part in our annual Highland Games. Follow the March of the Stewards from Station Square, at the heart of the town, to the home of the games at Mossfield Stadium.

Immerse yourself in a day of Scottish tradition, enjoy local delicacies, watch and listen to our local community and competitors from all over the world as they take part in the Oban Highland Games hosted by His Grace The Duke of Argyll.

There will be solo piping and you will be able to watch the grace and beauty of the Highland Dancers engaged in competition of reels, flings and sword dances. You will be entertained by Oban High School Pipe Band and be able to find out more about the games and their history at the Heritage Tent.

There will be a full programme of games events, Caber tossing, Hammer throwing and Shot Putt for the Heavies. You will be able to sit in the covered stand and watch the skill and stamina of our competitors taking part in the athletics events including various distances from 100m to the Hill Race up through Glencruitten Estate to the Long and High Jump taking place on the field.

At the games field there will be local traders and others from across Scotland selling various artisan products. We have a number of food retailers bringing you the best of Scottish Fare and Cuisine. Local hospitality will be available with a bar stocking a selection of whiskies and Scottish Lagers/Beers.
