Galway’s Gaillimh Ah-Boo! celebrations conclude with A Gathering of Souls, a free public Samhain procession bringing Irish and Mexican traditions together on the streets of Galway.

Led by the Mexican Community in Galway, the event explores the connections between Samhain, All Souls’ Day and Día de Muertos through music, symbolism, storytelling, colour and collective remembrance. Rather than presenting the traditions separately, the procession creates a shared cultural experience celebrating memory, community and the enduring connection between generations.

A Gathering of Souls takes place on Sunday 1 November 2026 at 6:00pm on the streets of Galway City.

Free to attend. Family-friendly and accessible.

Official organiser: Galway City Council Night-Time Economy / Gaillimh Ah-Boo!, led by the Mexican Community in Galway.
