Learn alternative methods of cyanotype printing using botanics, glass and lace. Experimenting with double exposure and drawing on acetate.

This workshop will guide you through the process of cyanotype printmaking. An alternative photographic process that achieves a myriad of blue tone.

At first you can take the time to look at examples of work and experiment with coating paper. We will use botanicals, lace and glass to create bespoke prints. You can gather textured elements to bring along, consider what the light can pass through. We will look at arrangement and composition followed by exposure to UV light.

This workshop is an opportunity to slow down and get inspired with a new method. The outcomes include learning a new process, cyanotype prints, bookmarks and cards to take home. This alternative photography method has a lot to offer in a creative practice. Complete beginners welcome.

Tea/coffee homebaked treats and lunch is provided so you an fully immerse yourself in creating.

Who is the facilitator:

Brigid Mulligan is an award-winning visual artist from county Longford. She used to be a chef and combines her cooking and artistic skills to develop this immersive experience.

She explores grief and loss through the process of making art in the studio and within the motorcycling community. She holds a master’s in creative Practice & First-Class Honours Degree in Fine art Sculpture from ATU Galway. Her recent exhibition ‘74 Summers’ was exhibited at The Townhall Theatre, Cavan and Interface, Galway.
