About This Event

An Abolitionist Bystander Intervention Training workshop will take place at Glasgow Zine Library on August 16, 2026. Participants are invited to learn skills for responding to racist or discriminatory incidents. The event is listed as free admission, with a stated cost structure.

Share skills and build autonomous practices to respond to racist and discriminatory incidents in this workshop

Please note: this event will be held in person.

This workshop explores why we must reject the framing of racist incidents as ‘hate crime’, and ways we can intervene when we witness these types of harm in public. Challenging automatic responses such as calling the police or doing nothing, this is a space to explore the multitude of alternatives available to us. Together we’ll share skills and build autonomous practices to respond to racist and discriminatory incidents, reduce our reliance on the state and keep each other safe!

CW: racism, street harrassment, gender-based violence

Masks are required at this event if you are able to wear one. Let's keep each other safe!
